2. Core principle
Liveglas connects your iPhone or iPad directly to your camera and works without a server of its own. There is no user account, no analytics or tracking SDK, no advertising and no sharing of data with third parties. Felix Kamm as the developer receives no data from the app, neither your live view nor your settings.
3. What data the app processes and why
| Data | Purpose | Where it is processed |
|---|---|---|
| Local network | Connecting to the camera over its own Wi-Fi: receiving the live view, controlling the camera | Only between your device and your camera. The live view is neither stored nor forwarded. |
| Joining Wi-Fi | Joining the camera's Wi-Fi when pairing via QR code | The app hands the network name and password from the QR code to iOS, which stores them like any Wi-Fi network. The app itself does not store them. |
| iPhone/iPad camera | Scanning the QR code on the camera display | On the device only, only while scanning. No photos are stored. |
| Camera connected via USB-C | Live view and control over the cable | On the device only. iOS asks for access separately. |
| Device name and identifier | The camera shows your device's name when connecting and recognises it by a random identifier, so it does not need to pair again each time | On the device and in your camera only |
| LUT files | Your own colour corrections for the preview | Imported files stay in the app's storage on the device |
| Log and measurements | Showing connection quality, finding faults | On the device only. It leaves the device only if you pass it on yourself via "Share". |
| Settings | Camera address, chosen tools and displays | On the device only |
iOS asks separately for local network, camera and access to connected cameras. You can revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS settings. Without local network access the Wi-Fi connection is unavailable; without camera access, QR pairing and the USB-C live view are unavailable.
4. Deleting data
Uninstalling removes all of the app's data: settings, imported LUTs and the log. You remove the camera's Wi-Fi in the iOS settings under Wi-Fi, and the paired device in the camera's menu.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. As all data is stored on your devices, you can exercise these rights directly yourself. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
